The vibrant hub of Bishopthorpe Road is also 5 minutes walk away, where you can find many independent shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs.Our period property dates back to the 1890s, and has been thoughtfully renovated and decorated throughout to a high standard. There are two double bedrooms and a sofa bed which makes accommodation suitable for up to 6 people. Families are welcome too - we've got a high chair and travel cot available to borrow.Linen and towels are replaced with freshly laundered supplies between each stay. Remote self check-in gives flexibility for late arrivals, and 24/7 guest support is on hand should you need any assistance during your stay.Ground Floor:A separate entrance hall leads to the front living room and the second reception room which is open planned into the kitchen. The front living room is a nice quiet space to relax after a busy day out in the city. The sofa bed is situation in this room too. (The sofa bed is queen size.)The kitchen space to the rear of the house is shared with the second reception room, making it a wonderfully social space. There are two large comfy sofas, a Smart TV (guest Netflix account and free view), and the Vodafone superfast broadband has a fast average speed of 67mb.Our newly fitted kitchen has a modern farmhouse style; the countertops are oak effect, and the apron sink makes the space look homely. The kitchen is equipped with an oven, fridge freezer, hob, washer dryer, microwave, kettle and toaster. There's an addition of a Nespresso coffee machine which is compatible with Nescafe Dolce Gusto for anyone wishing to bring their own pods. The breakfast bar can seat up to three, and can be doubled up as a work from home station.Access via the rear kitchen door is into a small private yard.First Floor:Upstairs are the two bedrooms and shower room (no bath).The master bedroom has a king size bed, built in wardrobe, chest of drawers, night tables and lamps. In the second bedroom there is an Ottoman queen size bed and a hanging rail and shelving.The newly fitted shower room is modern and contemporary, with black fixtures and fittings. The generously sized shower(no bath) benefits from a rainfall shower and handheld shower.There will be some complimentary tea/coffee waiting for you which I am sure will be useful for those arriving after a long journey!Fresh white bedding and towels are provided (hand towel and bath towel per person), as well as miniature travel sized bottles of shampoo, shower gel and soap. Other items included are a washing-up pack, toilet roll and kitchen roll, which will last a couple of days. If wish to purchase more for your stay there is a Sainsbury's Local or Costcutters on Bishopthorpe Road, a or another Sainsbury's Local on Micklegate, all are 5 minutes walk away.I support responsible travel within the current restrictions, and therefore my property is available for booking where the purpose of your stay falls within the current guidelines set out by the local Government.You'll have access to the entire house and yard.PARKING: Parking is available for one car and must be requested 48 hours before the guests check in. They need to provide the car registration, make and model for us to allocate the permit. This is a digital business permit. They can park in zone R15 with covers Hampden Street, Fairfax Street, Vicor Street and Kyme Street.CHECK IN / CHECK OUTCheck-in time is after 4pm and check-out time is before 10am. A £30 charge will be requested if guests check themselves in early without permission or if guests do not check out on time as this will cause disruption to my cleaner’s schedule.Please note that you will be charged £100 for lost keys, so please be careful with them.FAMILY FACILITIESA highchair, travel cot and mattress are provided. Guests are welcome to make use of the additional facilities however I politely ask that the travel cot is packed down and then returned back to its original place of storage before you check out. Don’t forget to bring their own cot bedding. Please make sure the highchair is wiped down after use and also stored away. Located in Bishophill, we are within the Bar Walls and five minutes walk to the city centre. For a fantastic range of local shops, cafes and restaurants, we recommend the vibrant area of Bishopthorpe Road. Supermarkets are within a five minute walk. There is a Sainsburys Local on Micklegate, open 7am-11pm and it has a 24 hour ATM. There is a Tesco Express in Low Ousegate, open 6am- midnight. There is a large Marks and Spencers food hall on Parliament Street which is further into the city centre. Places to eat and drink: York is full of lovely cafes, bars and restaurants, all within walking distance. The Golden Ball is the local community pub. Fossgate and Walmgate have a nice selection of independent restaurants, or head to Stonegate for more well known brands. Enjoy walking all round the ancient city Bar Walls which are facing our house. You can either climb on at Victoria Bar or Micklegate Bar - we are located exactly in the middle. Visit Rowntree Park and the delightful Rowntree Park Reading Café. Visit York Information Centre is located on 1 Museum St, York YO1 7DT and is 0.6 miles away (approx 13 minute walk).
