The buildings on the Oudegracht called 'Meisjesstad' have been used since 1939 for housing and the social work of the Augustinian Sisters of Saint Monica. Because the sisters are declining in number, it was decided in 2019 to sell some of the properties. Oudegracht 33 and 35 came on the market. The buildings on the Oudegracht, called 'Meisjesstad', have been used since 1939 for housing and the social work of the Augustinian Sisters of Saint Monica.
The buildings were living communities, meeting rooms and various office spaces, but the sisters themselves have lived in the adjacent building on Waterstraat for more than twenty years.
