Notting Hill is safe, full of small, tree lined streets with beautiful period buildings painted in pastel colours, combined with areas of social housing giving the area a cosmopolitan and varied atmosphere. The restaurants are amazing (we have The Ledbury which is a Michelin 2*) amongst many others and Portobello market on Saturday is fabulous. It's a great place for families as you're so close to the royal parks and museums and the good public transport means little legs don't have to walk too far. For those that are members of Soho house there is The Electric on Portobello Road and White City House which is 2 stops away from Ladbroke Grove station. The area is very safe to walk around day and night and has a very 'villagy' feel, evrything you need is within walking distance and the options for food / grocery shopping are amazing.
