Also on the walk into Shrewsbury is The Peach Tree, which does a great breakfast, lunch afternoon tea or an evening out. For more fine dining we would recommend The Walrus or Lion and Pheasant which are located in town or Hencote has a beautiful view over the town. Italian - La Dolce Vita or Osteria Da Paolo. For a good curry The Curry House or Avatar. Pizza - Dough & Oil. The Istanbul Restaurant has a wide selection of charcoal grills. Momo's Noodle Bar is nice. The Olive tree or Casa Naranjo for Tapas. House of the Rising Sun and The Armoury is always firm favourites, along with Cote and Bistro Jacques. And not forgetting The Boat House, which has a great outdoor space and overlooks the river. Number Four does a great brunch. We also like Hickory's and have a Nando's and a Harvester near the cinema which is within walking distance. There are also many cafes, in the town, at the back of the Square we like the more traditional Gallery tea room. Or Ginger & Co, where you can watch the world go by. Don?t forget to check out the local Market Hall, where you can eat, drink and shop for local produce. Local Attractions A 10-walk from the house will take you into the historic town of Shrewsbury. Shrewsbury has a whooping 800 listed building from the 16th and 17th centuries. Unfortunately in the 1960s, some historic buildings were demolished to make way for a very different architectural style and I am sure you will spot these buildings. Just remember when you are walking around to look up. A walk past the train station, castle, and old library building is worth seeing. If you follow the river, you will come to the Quarry Park, which is a beautiful 29-acre parkland providing the perfect place to relax, enjoy walks, picnic, or play a game of ball with the family. At the heart of the Quarry lies the Dingle, a floral masterpiece cultivated by world-renowned gardener Percy Thrower, who served as Parks Superintendent for 28 years. It's a delightful sunken garden landscaped with alpine borders, shrubbery, and charming water features that is worth a wander around. We also hold many festivals in the Quarry, check to see what is on. Shrewsbury Prison is worth a visit and has featured on many TV series. #removed# #removed# We have a multi-plex cinema if you fancy checking out the latest blockbuster and The Theater Severn #removed# Shrewsbury Prison is worth a visit and has featured on many TV series.
